Silvia Niersbach studied ecotrophology (B. Sc.), home economics (M. Sc. ) and vocational education (M. Ed.; subjects: nutrition & housekeeping, politics & economics) at the Justus-Liebig-University (JLU) in Gießen.
From 2014 to 2016 she was a teacher and research assistant at the professorship for the private household and family science at the JLU. From 2016 to 2018 she worked as a project assistant at the competence center for professionalization and quality assurance of household-related services.
In 2018 she started her doctoral thesis, in which she combines contents of home economics with labor research. Concretely, she researches the professional biography of female engineers.
Since December 2019, she is part of the scientific staff in the team of B!NErLe.
